The Public Service Broker is one of the most ambitious eGovernment projects ever undertaken in Ireland. Open Interface worked with BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting) to develop Information Architecture schemas and prototypes for Reach, the government agency set up to deliver the Public Service Broker. We also provided consultative services with respect to accessibility compliance.
The goal was to support BearingPoint analysts and developers in making the Public Service Broker an accessible and easy to use portal for the provision of Government services citizens.
Open Interface worked alongside BearingPoint analysts and developers with the Reach agency to design the look and feel of the website. Much of the overall information structures had been defined by Reach over the previous two years. Open Interface provided developers with WAI compliant HTML and CSS templates for integration with the portal system. In addition, we were engaged to provide several rounds of prototypes for Reach so that use-case documentation and portal features could be tested and re-designed prior to development.
Finally, Open Interface have worked closely with UAT (User Acceptance Test) teams to ensure that all outputs meet all WAI Priority 2 and certain Priority 3 checkpoints. Our exhaustive accessibility audit procedures have meant that the Public Service Broker is fully compliant to Irish and European guidelines.
